Taipei

The capital of Taiwan, Taipei City is a global city and is the hub of the country’s economy, politics, education and culture. The city and its surroundings are considered to be one of the top high-tech industrial areas in the world and has been at the heart of Taiwan’s rapid economic growth since the 1960s. Most of the country’s industrial efforts are also run out of Taipei and the cities that make up its metropolitan area.

The location

Situated in northern Taiwan and mainly part of the Taipei Basin, Taipei City is bordered by the Xindian River on the south and the Tamsui River on the west.

Due to its rainy climate and the fact that it is near the coast, the air pollution that is experienced in many cities of Southeast Asia and mainland China, doesn’t effect Taipei to the same extent.

Why choose Taipei?

Taipei provides a cost-effective solution to companies looking for an office presence in the Asian market that do not necessarily have the budget for the more expensive cities of Tokyo, Hong Kong or Beijing.

With great domestic and international transport links these major cities can be easily reached in any case and for high-technology companies especially, Taipei should seriously be considered.

Taipei is now one of the most visited cities in the world and it is not hard to see why; there is so much to see and do away from the office including the city’s many famous night markets, an abundance of shopping opportunities, a vibrant nightlife and a whole host entertainment venues.
