The location

Walking itinerary in old Paris, from the Châtelet to the Hôtel de Ville. As you wander the superb Île de la Cité and Île Saint-Louis, you will discover the incomparable romantic atmosphere of the Seine quays and the historic heart of Paris. The walk begins at the exit of the Châtelet metro station (Lines 1, 4, 7, 11, 14). Then take rue Saint-Denis. You arrive in a pleasant pedestrian area, called the Montorgueil district. Continue a few meters then turn right and take rue des Lombards. You are still in the pedestrian zone. The rue des Lombards (narrow, all in stone and lined with pubs, restaurants and shops) offers a vision of historic Paris. Go straight. The street becomes rue de la verrerie.
