Awka Studios's house is a curated coworking for freelance creatives in Poblenou: designers, photographers, art directors and marketers who want more than a desk. The gallery is a street-level space with 4.7 m ceilings and three 4 m windows that fill the day with light, and the loft above it holds fixed working stations for those who stay. The walls change with the work of the artists who show here, and the long table, the kitchen and the house events keep everyone close. Residents are the first people Awka Studios calls to collaborate on its client projects, so working here means growing your own practice alongside a brand and creative direction studio. Three ways in: a place at The Table, your own fixed 2 m station in the loft, or a 2 m station shared by two. Open Monday - Friday, 08:30 to 18:30.

The location

Poblenou is Barcelona's creative district, where old textile factories became studios, galleries and design offices. The house sits on Carrer del Doctor Trueta, two blocks from the beach and one from the Rambla del Poblenou, with its cafés, bakeries and long lunches. Llacuna metro (L4) and buses along Diagonal and Pujades are a short walk away, and the seafront bike lane runs straight to the centre. Between desk days there is always somewhere to go: an opening in the neighbourhood, a swim before work, or a coffee with another studio down the street.
