The capital of Italy, Rome is one of the most visited cities in Europe and is at the heart of the country’s politics, housing the seat of the Italian Government, while also being a main hub for the Italian economy.

The city plays host to the headquarters of many of Italy’s major companies and relies on an economy made up from high-technology, research, and banking.

The location

Situated in the Lazio region of central Italy, Rome was famously built on seven hills and benefits from a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and cool winters.

The city is divided into 15 separate municipi (administrative areas) that surround the historic city centre.

Looking for an office in Rome

The greater EUR district is currently the most sought-after area for office space in Rome but there has also been a recent resurgence in companies looking to move into more central locations within the city.

Despite still suffering from financing constraints, the Rome office market is gradually improving, largely driven by foreign investment.

Having said this, the vacancy rate in the city is still relatively high, especially in terms of prime rents.

As such there are plenty of good value options to be taken for prospective tenants.

Costs

The prices for serviced office space can range from between €350 - €900 per workstation in Rome, depending on location and requirements.

However, when looking at serviced offices it is always worth keeping in mind that these costs usually cover a whole variety of amenities, which may include Internet meeting rooms, reception services etc., and as such can me more cost-effective than traditional leases.

  • Approximately 90% of the ancient city has not been excavated as it is buried around 30 feet below street level

  • If you’re thirsty when out walking the streets of Rome then you’re in luck; the city has around 2,500 public drinking fountains
