    Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a self-governed region on the south coast of China, and one of the most densely populated areas in the world.

The city is also one of the globe’s leading financial hubs, characterised by a capitalist service economy, low tax rates and free trade.

Hong Kong also has one of the highest concentrations of corporate headquarters in the Asia-Pacific region.

    The location

Hong Kong has three main areas: Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories. Hong Kong Island and Kowloon are the most popular areas for business, while New Territories is essentially more industrial.

The main business districts in Hong Kong Island are Sheung Wan, Central, Admiralty, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay and Quarry Bay, while in Kowloon, business is concentrated in Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok and Kwun Tong.

Looking for an office in Hong Kong?

Hong Kong has been always been one of the most popular serviced office markets in Asia.

The market continues to grow, with a number of new office providers and an increase in the availability of coworking spaces.

Top priorities for businesses looking to move into Hong Kong include the rental rates, transport links and the location.

Betty Chen, Instant Offices' specialist local consultant for the Hong Kong region recommends the Central, Wan Chai or Tsim Sha Tsim for their central location in prominent business districts, good transport links and surrounding amenities.

    Office sizes in Hong Kong

The average size requirement for serviced office space in Hong Kong is two to five workstations.

This is largely down to companies wanting to test the waters before they make a larger move into the area.

However, Instant Offices can provide entire suites to clients looking to establish themselves in Hong Kong.

We offer a great variety of office sizes, and are able to accommodate most enquiries, from one person through to 100 or more, depending on the specifics.

Serviced office providers can be flexible with the layout of the workspace, and are happy to discuss partitioning to fit a particular requirement.

    Why choose Hong Kong?

Hong Kong is a free trading zone and one of the leading international finance centres.

There is also less regulation when it comes to setting up a business in Hong Kong, compared to other parts of Asia.

With a strong currency, economic freedom and a competitive market, Hong Kong is an ideal location for businesses wishing to establish themselves in the Asia-Pacific region.

A closer look at Hong Kong

These are the most popular areas in which to rent office space:

    Central

The Central area, located on the north shore of Hong Kong Island, is populated mainly by businesses in the banking and financial industries, but is also home to firms from other service areas, like consulting

There are a number of consulates and government buildings in the area, while Central is the most expensive area in Hong Kong in which to rent

However, it is also the most prominent business hub in the city, with excellent transport links and amenities

    Wan Chai

Wan Chai is a busy commercial area suited to small to medium businesses from all industries looking for a low to median range rental within the CBD

It's well served by transport links, and contains a number of parks, office towers, and hotels, as well as the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre

    Causeway Bay

Causeway Bay is a major Hong Kong shopping district.

Heavily developed, it's also a lively entertainment and commercial area, and an attractive option for businesses from a number of industries, including retail, hospitality, entertainment, and tourism

Causeway Bay is home to many landmark offices, hotels and restaurants, and boasts Hong Kong's largest concentration of department stores

It is also the site of some of the city's premier sporting grounds, with the Happy Valley Race Course, HK Football Stadium ,and Victoria Park all minutes away

    Quarry Bay

Quarry Bay, traditionally an industrial and residential area, has now become more commercially orientated

A number of businesses with a particular focus on IT, telecoms and media are based here

Quarry Bay is well served by the Metro, buses and trams

The entrance to the Eastern Harbour Crossing Tunnel, the second busiest cross-harbour tunnel in Hong Kong, is only a short distance away, and allows workers to cross to Kowloon, avoiding the traffic in Central

    Tsim Sha Tsui

Tsim Sha Tsui is a major tourist hub, and as such there are a number of tourism-based businesses in the area.

Nestled in the heart of Kowloon, Tsim Sha Tsui is also a major area for business and commerce in mainland China — ideal for any businesses who are trying to enter the Chinese market

In this commercial district, most offices enjoy panoramic harbour views and/or city views

There are excellent transport links serving Tsim Sha Tsui, including ferries, buses, the Metro, and mainline trains
