A guide to office space in Atlanta

Atlanta is a national center of commerce and is one of the ten U.S. cities considered to be an alpha-world city. With the busiest airport in the world, the city is the primary transport hub in the south east of the country, with excellent road and rail links to complement the airport.

The location

Set among the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Atlanta has a humid subtropical climate and is divided into 242 separate neighborhoods. The city proper is divided into three major high-rise districts, Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead that are surrounded by a number of additional smaller districts.

Looking for an office in Atlanta

Companies looking for office space in Atlanta often look for a Downtown location as it is the home to the government incentivized ‘Hub Zone’ and ‘Opportunity Zone’. Particularly, military and government related companies migrate to this area. However, the whole city and surrounding areas offer a number of options, many more cost-effective than a Downtown location making it worth shopping around.

Costs

Prices can vary significantly in the city depending on where you are looking and the quality of the space. As a rule, the further you move away from Downtown, the more likely you are to find cheaper options. However, when searching for serviced offices keep in mind that these costs usually cover a variety of amenities and as such can offer great value for money and lower outgoings.

Office sizes

Office space in Atlanta is in high demand meaning that there is not a huge amount of large spaces available. Typically executive suites are 500 sq. ft. or less but Instant Offices are able to accommodate most enquiries, from one person through to 100 or more depending on the specifics. Coworking space is pretty much non-existent in the city at the moment.
