1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I have worked for The Instant Group for three and a half years. I started on a short term contract before moving permanently to the online serviced office broking team. Six months later I started in my current position with Corporate Solutions, based in our London HQ.
Previous to joining The Instant Group I worked in the financial sector, first as an insurance broker and then in hedge fund recruitment in Australia.
2. What is your role at The Instant Group? What does that entail?
I work as an Associate on the Corporate Solutions team. My role involves helping clients identify, acquire and negotiate flexible workspace solutions to best suit their business. I have particular expertise working with companies from the transport, infrastructure and energy sectors.
I have also worked closely with our agent partners, building strong relationships and helping their clients source flexible property solutions.
3. Why do you enjoy working for The Instant Group?
I have always enjoyed the culture at The Instant Group; we work hard but enjoy ourselves at the same time. I also really like the fact we are challenging a traditional market, always coming up with new and innovative solutions for our clients.
4. What are the most commonly asked questions in your line of work?
Obviously the size/type of the space and the cost is important to clients. With the London market in particular there is such a wide range of districts and spaces to choose from, with price ranges differing vastly from one area to another – I am often asked which sub-markets in London can offer the best value.
5. What do you love about the city you work in?
Working in such a thriving city means I’m close to a lot of friends and colleagues who all work in town. I also love the food here – there’s such a huge variety to choose from; I particularly love Asian food.
London is also home to some of the best pubs and sporting venues in the UK – Twickenham, Wembley, Wimbledon and my personal favourite, as a Charlton Athletic fan, The Valley.
6. What are the main trends you have seen in the industry since you joined The Instant Group?
The main trend I’ve seen is the increase in knowledge and receptiveness to what we do. We offer a different solution in a market that has always done things the same way – and that I find exciting.
Regarding the London market, when I started working here there was huge interest in City and Mayfair, but I’ve noticed in the last couple of years that more businesses are looking for space in up and coming fringe markets such as Shoreditch, Farringdon and Clerkenwell.
