Instant’s CEO Tim Rodber was recently interviewed by Completely Office for Completely [different] magazine.
The article noted that “Instant is changing the landscape of office procurement,” through a pioneering approach to workspace solutions. From our roots as an innovator of online serviced office brokerage, Instant has evolved its offering over the past 15 years to meet the needs of a growing corporate client base and challenge the traditional office sector.
Prior to Instant’s entrance into the market, businesses had two options when it came to office space – source your own and take on a traditional lease, or sign up with a serviced office provider. According to Rodber, “There are 7,500 serviced offices in the world and it’s a sector which is growing by 10% per year. Serviced offices provide a great platform for start-up businesses and also a way to move into new territories but it’s not necessarily a platform that suits larger enterprises which want more control and transparency.” This is where Instant’s ‘third way’, the managed office solution, comes in.
Instant’s unique model means that companies can take control of their own space whilst still enjoying the turn-key benefits of serviced offices. Furthermore, businesses have the ability to tailor the space to meet their changing requirements over time with Instant’s bespoke approach.
Rodber has been focused on growing Instant’s UK team, appointing outsourcing and procurement specialist Lyndsay Hardwick as the Managing Director for Client Services, and Matt Dawson as Director for Business Development earlier this year. Instant now employs over 110 people, and there has been a marked pick-up in activity in the last 12 months. “People are seeing us as a credible, real alternative in the market and we have lots of people to thank for that,” says Rodber.
As for future plans? “The US is a real opportunity for us. We have a business here in the UK that’s growing steadily year-on-year. We’ve made investments and we’ve got a good team. We now need to shape our position in the market and get our message out.”
