1. Tell us a little bit about yourself?
I have worked at Instant for four years. I started as an Account Manager and have been fortunate enough to become a Sales Manager. I’m based in the London office and manage Team Crossfire. Prior to Instant I worked at Foxtons Estate Agents for two years, where I was first exposed to the property industry.
2. What’s your role at Instant?
I’m one of two Sales Managers for the Online team. This involves the day to day management of half the UK and EMEA staff, while also working to achieve sales targets on an individual and team basis.
3. Why do you enjoy working for Instant?
I enjoy working at Instant because it’s at the forefront of a constantly changing market. We’re market leaders in what we do and we operate with a sense of integrity and fun, making it a great environment to be in.
4. What questions are you most commonly asked by customers?
Being the first point of contact for all incoming calls, the Online team is asked a wide range of questions. Many prospective clients aren’t aware of the different types of commercial space available to them, so explaining what a serviced office is, for example, is quite common. Also, because we operate on a global basis and help so many clients each month, we are often asked our opinion on the latest market information and predications.
5. What do you love about the city you work in?
Recently a CEO of a large property company was quoted as saying “London has almost become a country within a country”. I agree with this and it’s what makes working in London such a vibrant and exciting place to be. To be working within the property industry is a further bonus, as London real estate will always have an added buzz about it.
6. What would you say to people looking to rent office space in the areas you cover?
I can help with enquiries for office space across the UK. What I would recommend is that we have a call to discuss the requirements, so that I can make the most appropriate suggestions. We work with thousands of commercial property provides, so we are very likely to have the right solution! We offer a completely free service, so what have you got to lose?
7. What are the main trends you have seen in the industry since you joined Instant?
I joined Instant only 18 months after the global market collapsed. It was an interesting time in the commercial property industry as there was still a high level of concern and austerity. Since then the market has improved steadily and the last six months have been very promising. With the start of the new financial year, companies are finding bigger budgets to put towards their office space and confidence has returned to many different sectors. More entrepreneurs are starting up their own businesses and as a result need more office space – so they are naturally coming to us!
