Rob Hamilton, Founder

Rob Hamilton, Founder of Instant, founded Instant in May 1999 to amalgamate the fragmented serviced offices sector into one online marketplace, bringing the power of the internet into what was a slow-moving and traditional industry. He has since grown the business to be the market leader in all key global serviced office global markets, and diversified it to be the largest managed office space provider in the UK. Instant has grown by over 100% year-on-year since 2001, and is forecast to have a turnover of £24m in 2011. Today, the company has an 80-strong workforce based in its London, Miami and Sydney offices.

Rob’s successes as an entrepreneur has won Instant a gallery of prestigious awards. In 2011 Instant powered into The Sunday Times’ Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work For league at number 23, in recognition of the group's proven strengths as an excellent employer. It has remained in the top 100 in for the past four years. It also featured in The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league of fastest growing private UK companies in 2009; won the HR Excellence Award for the Growing Business category; and was named as one of only four companies to feature in the shortlist for the National Business Awards’ City & Guilds Employer of the Year category. Rob featured in the shortlist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of The Year Award 2009.

Prior to founding the Instant, Rob was Associate Partner at Chapman Swabey, now part of GVA Grimley, the international property advisor. He graduated in Estate Management from Oxford Brookes University, qualified as a Chartered Surveyor during his tenure at Atis Real (a European real estate property company) and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
