1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I joined Instant in November 2007 and started out as a Sales Consultant covering the Asian market. After three years I was promoted to Sales Manager for the Asia Pacific region. I am based in Instant’s Sydney office and am fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese and English.
2. What is your role at Instant? What does that entail?
I lead the Asia Pacific sales team, as well as working with the Head of Broking to ensure effective operational planning and processes, the allocation of resources and the monitoring and control of key risks. In terms of resources, I am responsible for assigning work to my team members, while the risks I monitor include the general profits and loss in the Asia Pacific region, as well as the increasing marketing costs.
3. Why do you enjoy working for Instant?
I enjoy working in a small but fast growing company. We started out as two people, and have now grown to five – it’s a small but friendly team! There is also the opportunity for growth and promotion.
4. What are the most commonly asked questions in your line of work?
Price quotations! In my daily dealings with enquiries, people always want to know about the costs.
5. What do you love about the city you work in?
I love the blue skies and beaches of Sydney.
6. What would you say to people looking to rent office space in the areas you cover?
I cover many areas in the Asia Pacific market. It really depends on which location the client is looking to base themselves in. For example, if someone is looking for an office in Hong Kong, I’ll mention that it’s one of the main financial centres in Asia and is well located for business travel and transactions with other Asian countries. Their rental rate is very competitive as well.
7. What are the main trends you have seen in the industry since you joined Instant?
There are more and more business centres available for renting in Asian countries. The serviced office market is really growing in this region.
