1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I joined Instant Offices as an Account Manager working in the North East Market. I actually came from a background of selling wine but wanted something a little faster paced and the commercial property market seemed like the perfect place.
2. What is your role at Instant Offices? What does that entail?
As my role at Instant Offices has evolved, I initially began to cover the South West market as well as the North East, and then this has expanded so that I am covering the whole United Kingdom market. I am now a Senior Account Manager, which means that I handle large flexible office requirements, with a particular focus on London. This means I listen to my client’s needs and match them to the most suitable options, whilst negotiating the best deal for them. In my role as Senior Account Manager I have to be very consultative in my approach in order to find the right space that can make a big impact on the companies that I secure space for.
3. Why do you enjoy working for Instant Offices?
I enjoy working for Instant Offices because the role is so fast paced and the people around you inspire you every day. Instant Offices has a great culture and it really is the people that make it special.
4. What are the most commonly asked questions in your line of work?
The most common question I get asked is ‘how do I get the best deal?’ – to help with this, I use my established relationships with the providers to make sure that they put their best deal on the table. Another common question I get asked is ‘how long do I have to sign for?‘. Companies nowadays prioritise flexibility in their rentals so that they can grow and change with the business market. The flexible office market can cater for companies looking for as little as three months, but if you’re looking to stay put for a while, it makes more economic sense to sign for 12.
5. What are the main trends you have seen in the industry since you joined Instant Offices?
Since I have joined Instant Offices, there has been a rise in demand and decrease in availability of flexible office space. In the last few years we have also seen an explosion in the popularity of coworking spaces. Some of our clients are really starting to see the advantages of working in business communities where they can benefit from networking and collaborating with other like-minded people.
